Galéopsis cultivates 5 ha of Thuya occidentalis (Cedar Leaf), which it distills in June each year (REACH in progress) to obtain an essential oil that meets Pharmacopoeia standards.
This essential oil is traditionally produced in Canada, and has experienced significant price increases and changes in recent years. Climate change is likely to continue to disrupt this market in the coming years, as the production of this essential oil is based on the collection of pruning or felling by-products.
